Feather Field Productions · A Series of 9 Books · Adult Fiction
Eight lives. Eight fractures. One world that holds them all — barely. A raw, unflinching look at what it means to feel too much, want too much, and keep going anyway.
The Series
Somewhere between the neon haze of a city that never sleeps and the quiet ache of a world that never stops moving, eight anthropomorphic lives orbit one another — drawn together by circumstance, desire, grief, and everything in between.
Nessa's Broken World is a slice-of-life series that refuses to look away. Told across 9 volumes, each book pulls a different thread in a tapestry of characters navigating love, addiction, identity, longing, and the complicated ways bodies and hearts betray us.
Bold, tender, and unapologetically adult.
The Cast
Each character carries their own world. Update these with your cast's names, species, and personality blurbs.

The Collection
The World
Every story in Nessa's Broken World takes place in the same sprawling county — a place big enough to get lost in, small enough that everyone eventually finds each other.
The Setting
A city that hums with noise and quiet desperation in equal measure. Feather Fields is where ambitions go to get complicated — sprawling neighbourhoods, a river that divides more than geography, and a skyline that looks better from a distance. This is where all ten volumes unfold.
The Institution
Where Nessa, Tonic, Jack, Abagale, Gala, and Tina spend their days — and where most of their damage begins. The Owls. Five-time Red Ribbon School recipient. A place that looks put-together from the outside and is quietly falling apart from within. Sound familiar?
The Outskirts
Out past the city noise, in Freemont Fields, sits the Wheat farm — the place that shaped Nessa more than any school or street corner did. Quiet, sprawling, and operating by its own rules. For some characters it's a refuge. For others, it's where things got complicated.
The County
Every neighbourhood, landmark, and scrawled annotation — the full map of Feather Fields county as it appears in the series.

Feather Fields is its own city — not a direct stand-in for any real place. It has the density and grit of a mid-sized American city with a river running through it, distinct neighbourhoods that feel worlds apart, and the kind of atmosphere where everyone is six degrees from everyone else.
Each book follows a different character and works as its own story, but they share the same world, timeline, and cast. Reading in order gives you the full picture of how everyone's lives intersect — and makes certain moments hit a lot harder when you already know what's happening on the other side of town.
Not anymore — and not in any clean way. They share Nessa, a history neither of them has fully processed, and a talent for making things complicated. Their dynamic is one of the threads that runs quietly through the whole series.
All nine books take place in roughly the same window of time — they overlap, loop back, and occasionally show the same event from a different character's perspective. Think of it less as a linear sequence and more as nine lenses pointed at the same stretch of months in Feather Fields.
Nessa is the gravitational centre of the series — everyone orbits her in some way, even when she's barely aware of it. Starting with her story grounds you in the world and the relationships before the other books pull the camera to different angles.
The farm in Freemont Fields is run by Sylvester and Jean Wheat — Nessa's grandparents. It's the one place in the series that feels genuinely stable, which makes it significant for more than one character. What happens there in Book 2 changes things considerably.
Nessa's Broken World is a standalone series produced under Feather Field Productions. The world, characters, and city of Feather Fields are original and self-contained — no prior reading required, no shared universe.
This is an adult series — 18+ only. The books contain explicit sexual content, mature emotional themes including toxic relationships, obsession, and family trauma, and unflinching depictions of characters making bad decisions. It is not gratuitous for its own sake; the difficult content is part of what makes these characters real.
